The highly anticipated 2008 Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo March 3rd through March 22 is featuring one of the hottest tours this year, Miley Cyrus as Hannah Montana, one of the best selling tours in history, in addition to the most thrilling action in sports, bull riding rodeo. The Houston Rodeo features bull riding, the most exciting 8 seconds in sports. It's also the most dangerous. Bulls weigh as much as a ton. They don't look it, but they're very fast and can obviously injure the bull rider. That's why nobody leaves until the final bull has been rode. Tough bulls mean more money and non of the bulls are timid. The Bull rider must not only ride the bull for a full heart bleeding eight seconds, he must escape the bull on foot once he's off. Help is allowed by the clowns who distract the bull while he escapes. The clowns are unsung rodeo heroes. The clowns also assist in freeing the bull riders at the risk of their life when the bull riders get hung in the rope tied around the bulls middle.

Houston Rodeo The bull rider hangs on to a loose rope tied around the bull's middle with one hand, but his free hand must not touch the bull, himself, or the equipment or the rider is disqualified. He's also disqualified if he gets bucked off. A bell must be attached to the rope around the bull's middle. The judges base their points on control. Sitting upright, spurring and turned out toes all lead to more points.
